All adults, age 18 or over, who are involved in any way with a team registered for a UAYSL league session must have completed the following requirements:
1. Completed and passed the AYS (Alaska Youth Soccer) Safe Sport Training course.
2. Completed and passed the AYS Verification/Background Check.
3. All Head Coaches, Asst. Coaches, Team Managers and any other adult who will be present on the team bench must be properly registered with Alaska Youth Soccer, our State Organization, have completed & passed the Safe Sport Training and Background Check.
** At this time, team players age 18 and over, must view & pass the Safe Sport Training course only. They are not required, as a team player, to pass a background check per Alaska Youth Soccer.
Participant Team Adult or Player Who is Not Affiliated with a UAYSL Member Club
The requirements below apply to a team adult or a player 18+ who has either not completed/obtained through the appropriate UAYSL or AYS member club OR is associated with a team that is not affiliated with a UAYSL or AYS member club, such as a 16U-19U Senior Division team. Follow the steps below in this order:
#1. Register for a current UAYSL league session as a player, team coach, manager, adult or volunteer. All registration events will be posted on the UAYSL website. In doing this you will activate the Safe Sport training option in your GotSport member account. **UAYSL is no longer using StackSports member accounts. We have switched over to GotSport as required by Alaska Youth Soccer, our state organization. Therefore, the "Member Login" button at the top right of the current UAYSL website IS NOT your GotSport member account. If you do not currently have a GotSport member account, you will be prompted to create one when you register for a UAYSL league session as a coach, manager or team adult. Then, to login to your GotSport account at any time go to:

#2. Log in to your GotSport member account, go to the "Dashboard" tab. Scroll down, the Safe Sport and Background Check links should be visible. View, complete and pass the online Safe Sport training. The course will take 1.5 - 2 hours so be prepared for that time frame. Once the course has been passed, it will show up in your member account and a certificate will be emailed directly to you. Annual refresher courses are required once the initial training is completed. Submit a Background Check application using the link provided. Both the Safe Sport training and the Background Check can only be accessed through a GotSport member account. Safe Sport training is free. The Background Check fee is $8.50.
